Tim Kemp

Rev. Tim Kemp -- Minister of Music

Tim Kemp first came to Canyon Creek Baptist Church in 2001 to fill in for the Minister of Music when he was out of town. Shortly thereafter, he became the Interim Worship Leader and has ministered at CCBC ever since. Tim began in music ministry just out of high school at the age of 18 and music ministry in one form or another for over 30 years. He has served as a minister of music in various churches in Texas.  Known as a great vocalist, Tim has toured as a member and featured soloist both in the United States and internationally with choirs such as The New Edition, The Continentals, The Singing Men of Texas, and The Centurymen. He currently serves as a bi-vocational minister as he is employed by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in the Student Life Department.

The Kemp Family

Tim graduated from Belton High School in 1980 and has degrees in music from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (1987) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (1993).

Tim met and married his wife, Donna, while at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. The couple has two boys---Dane (b. 1992) and Brandon (b. 1996). They love family time, watching their boys play sports, as well as many other activities.

In worship, Tim prefers to use many types of music. He loves the great hymns of faith, which have taught countless generations, but also loves new music which brings a new and fresh expression of our faith and love for our Savior. Tim loves leading worship and seeing others connecting with God when they sing.
