Rev. Trey Bledsoe -- Minister to StudentsTrey Bledsoe grew up in Texas and Louisiana. He holds a degree in Secondary Education from Baylor University and a Masters of Divinity in Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Throughout college and seminary, he served in a variety of ministry internships. In 1998, Trey embarked on his first full-time ministry opportunity right here at Canyon Creek Baptist Church as Minister of Students. In this capacity, he has had the privilege of working year after year with amazing students from 7th grade through college age. Many of these students have gone on to serve in missions and in a variety of vocational ministry positions. Others are now serving Jesus as parents, in business avenues, in education, in military positions, as students (of course), and in many, many other ways.
Actively participating in the mission and outreach arm of Canyon Creek, Trey has been a part of national and international mission trips. In addition, he enjoys building relationships in the community. He serves on the board of Central Texas Youth Services and coaches baseball for the Belton Youth Baseball Association.
Trey loves his wonderful family. His wife, Christie, is a professor at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is active in a variety of ministries at Canyon Creek. Trey and Christie are the proud parents of four children: Joseph, Joshua, Rachel, and Rebekah. They love to disciple their children, take them to their sport activities, and be involved in their lives. Having a heart for relational ministry, Trey’s priority in ministry is helping students grow in their relationship with Jesus, family, and others. The student ministries strive to achieve this through small groups, mentoring, missions, and larger events such as retreats and youth camp. Speaking from the heart, Trey says: The opportunity ‘to influence a generation,’ as a friend of mine puts it, is an incredible calling and truly worth it all.
