Preschool/Children’s Building Update
The Church Commits to the Building Process
On June 22, 2008, over 97% of CCBC voted to commit to the building process. This means that the church will now enter into a capital fund-raising program in the Fall. Also, the Building & Construction will now begin working toward securing architect drawings and building contractor.
The Church Confirms Plans
On June 1, 2008, CCBC voted with over 98% of the church accepting the site plan and preliminary plans as presented by the Future Planning Team
The Beginning Stages
Canyon Creek Baptist Church is excited to be entering into a transition phase for our church. In the near future, we hope to break ground on a new Preschool/Children’s facility that will further enhance our current ministries and open up new opportunities for growth and ministry.
The Building and Construction team has met together for several months. Their first task was to discuss philosophy of building. There are so many ways of walking through the process from design to finished construction. This team had to wrestle with these many options.
Architects
The team has met with several architects since December and have narrowed the list of potential architects considerably. The team hopes to present an architect to the church during the June 2009 business meeting having already begun further design with a particular firm.
Architects Confirmed
The church formed an official relationship with L.M. Holder architects in July 2009. Holder presented himself and his firm with the highest regard.
Design Changes
With necessary budget changes comes changes in design. Though the design has changed considerably, the scope of the project has not. Holder has presented us with the idea of a single story building that will take up only a little more ground space than the original preliminary drawing. The team is excited about the design and when the church approved the change in August, the architect were given the permission to begin putting more detail into design.
General Contractor Selected
In Late September, the Building and Construction Team selected Structura as the appropriate builders for the Canyon Creek addition. The team looks forward to working with this firm in raising a building that will house vibrant preschool and children’s ministry for decades to come.

1) suggest that the 2008 overall funding commitment be described
2) also would be nice to have an attachment that shows collected funds by month up to present and a summary paragraph in the webpage text
3) current planned schedule
4) in paragraph titled design Changes, there is an unexplained reference to budget changes, what budget changes? and if design has changed, have the floor plans changed/ assume architect has a new plan right?
5) when you use a month (like “late September”), put a year beside it so it becomes clear what is happening and when
